
Bell’s Palsy
The main cause of Bell’s palsy is thought to be swelling of your seventh cranial nerve.Bell’s palsy isn’t contagious. However, researchers think some types of viral infections might trigger Bell’s palsy, and those infections can be contagious.

Most patients fully recover over several weeks, but recovery may take up to 12 months.Without treatment, the recovery effect may only be about 60%.
Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome
Ramsay-Hunt syndrome is caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV). It presents as a unilateral lower motor neurone facial nerve palsy. Patients stereotypically have a painful and tender vesicular rash in the ear canal, pinna and around the ear on the affected side.
